Recognizing the urgent need for more sustainable land management practices — particularly on private lands — Laura has focused her career on integrating restoration ecology principles into modern landscape design. She challenges the misconception that conservation requires aesthetic compromise, creating landscapes that are visually compelling while supporting pollinators, wildlife habitat, biodiversity, and long-term ecological resilience.
In addition to her professional practice, Laura is deeply committed to advancing Ontario’s native plant industry. She serves as a Director on the Board of the Muskoka Conservancy and the Ontario Native Plant Growers Association, and a member of the National Seed Producers of Canada. Through her leadership roles, she advocates for increasing public awareness of native plants, promoting responsible propagation and sourcing standards, and fostering a strong, collaborative, and economically sustainable native plant sector capable of meeting Ontario’s rapidly growing demand.
Laura’s work is guided by a clear belief: restoring ecological health is not optional — it is essential — and native plants are foundational to that future.
